How does the Cubit sofa work?

The production of the Cubit sofa in our East Westphalian factory combines short, sustainable delivery routes with maximum flexibility and direct quality control.

We have selected fabrics from top manufacturers in Germany, the Netherlands and Italy. These textiles are characterized by high material quality, careful workmanship and individual expression.

List of manufacturers:

  • rohi ( Novum and Credo collections)

  • Deploeg ( Nevada and Bolster collections)

  • Fidivi ( Radio, LaserJ, Nabucco, Spazio collections)

  • Bluekompany ( Celia and Dama collections)

The individual seat, back and side surfaces are made of high-quality PUR foam and have a foam weight of 40 - 50 kilograms.

The comfort foam ensures that the seat retains its shape. The cold foam layer ensures sitting comfort. The combination of these two foams results in a particularly long service life and reduces the risk of hollow seats.

All foams are certified to Ökotex Standard 100. Modular and stable L-shaped wooden elements connect the seat and backrest; this connection technology is internationally patented.

The black foiled L-shaped wooden elements are made up of several layers of MDF.

The anti-slip coating sewn under the modules ensures excellent stability. No further connection of the modules is required. >> Sofa concept

In the vast majority of cases, the Cubit is delivered to you as a complete module.

In exceptional cases, i.e. if the configured modules exceed the maximum dimensions for delivery on a pallet, the backrest must be attached to the L-shaped timber, but this is child's play.

The Cubit sofa modules are designed to fit through doors and stairwells.

For packed modules, the packaging size corresponds to the standard and has the following dimensions: L1185 x W785 x H 1070 mm (EUR pallet dimensions).

In most cases, our Cubit sofa is delivered fully assembled, only the backrest may need to be attached to the seat, but this is very easy to do.

If you would like to have your cover cleaned, you can easily remove the module yourself and cover it with a new one. We will be happy to send you a video if required.

We do not recommend washing the covers at home. Professional dry cleaning is a much safer solution.

If you need new covers or would like to have them repaired, please contact us.

The upholstery of our Cubit consists of PUR foams, are completely without springs and are therefore suitable for allergy sufferers. All our fabrics have been tested for harmful substances and meet the current human-ecological requirements of the standard.

An overview of our fabric collections with detailed information on the test criteria can be found here.

A good measure of this is the Martindale value. It actually describes the abrasion resistance, but also gives an indication of the robustness. A value of 25,000 abrasion cycles or more is recommended for upholstery. Our fabrics have a Martindale value of between 50,000 and 150,000 abrasion cycles. Even more important, however, is the weave of the fabric. The sharp claws easily get caught in coarser-meshed fabrics and tear out threads, whereas this risk is lower with finer-meshed covers. In addition, densely woven fabrics make it easier to brush out or vacuum the hair lying around.

With Cubit sofa modules you are on the safe side: with a removable cover, the furniture looks like new again without you having to buy a new one.

However, you will be even more certain if you test it in the flesh. We will be happy to send you fabric samples that you can test under real conditions. How much hair gets caught? How stable does fabric feel? You are welcome to try it out.

We do not recommend the Bolster (deploeg) collection for small children and pets in particular.

We recommend regular vacuuming with the upholstery nozzle of the vacuum cleaner.

In the event of stains, react immediately and dab carefully with water. Never rub, only dab! Always remove stains from the outside in.

Pilling, which is caused by normal wear and tear of the fabric, can be removed with a standard lint shaver.

We do not recommend washing the covers in the washing machine. Professional dry cleaning is the more sustainable solution. However, we have received a lot of feedback from customers who have machine washed their covers several times without any significant damage to the fabric. If you decide to use the washing machine, please only use the wool cycle.

How does a cubit shelvingShelving system work?

We use MDF and HDF from European quality manufacturers for our Cubit. Medium-density and high-density fiberboards are formed by hand into a carcass and painted by hand with several coats of satin-matt PU 2-component lacquer.

The modules veneered with real wood are oiled by hand after production. The material thickness is 10 mm.

The Cubit shelving system has been manufactured in Slovenia for many years.

In the module overview you will find all the important information on dimensions, contents and load capacity.

Yes, our sample package consists of two white cubits (CD24 & M28) and all color samples from our range. Alternatively, you can also order color samples only.

The clever connection system enables easy assembly, regardless of whether the Cubit®s are placed, stacked or hung. Each Cubit® module has a joint at the back, which forms the heart of the intelligent shelving system. The all-round joint makes the shelving system flexible: the various Cubit® modules can be connected to each other without screws at the top and bottom, but also on the right and left - regardless of their width, height and depth.

The Cubit®s can also be rotated by 90°, which multiplies the design options. The milled grooves on the back allow for secure wall mounting. As each module is self-supporting, there are no limits to your creativity, even with floating shelves.

The modules are delivered to your home fully assembled. The clever plug-in system works like a "tongue and groove". The connecting element included in the scope of delivery and the circumferential joint make the assembly of your Cubit®s simple, tool-free and above all stable...in many cases, drilling is not even necessary! Tip! When assembling, make sure the surface is as level as possible.

If the modules are to be free-floating or wall-mounted, you will need brackets for wall mounting (these are included in the scope of delivery). Please understand that we cannot accept any responsibility for the suspension due to the conditions on site. The custom-made Cubit® bracket made of galvanized steel is supplied with two screws and matching wall plugs and self-adhesive spacers. You will also receive a drilling template tailored to all Cubit® modules, which you can use to mark and drill the holes. Please have a size 6 drill bit ready for this.

Changes to product dimensions or colours are generally possible from an order value of EUR 10,000. Please contact us at .

Please note: Cubit® shelves must also be fixed to the wall under certain conditions.

These are in particular:

  1. Linear, classic shelving units over 1.40 m high

  2. free-floating or cantilevered shelving modules and

  3. Door and drawer modules.

When extending an existing shelving system with individual modules, we always recommend wall mounting as a precaution.

All shelving modules are delivered fully assembled. The top doors are fitted with high-quality hinges and are professionally adjusted. If you wish to install the module rotated by 180 degrees, you must readjust the hinges with a screwdriver. Please read the assembly instructions.

In principle, cables up to 6 mm thick can be routed behind all shelf modules. If you order a hi-fi module, 6 mm spacers are supplied for all shelf modules included in the order. If you have not ordered a HIFI module and would still like to run cables behind the modules, please let us know after placing your order. Further information on cables can be found in the assembly instructions.

In principle, you can use shelf modules in the bathroom and also in the kitchen. However, we expressly point out that the shelf modules must not be exposed to excessive steam or direct contact with water.

Yes, if you need additional hook sets for your Cubit, we will be happy to send them to you.

On the one hand, a large shelving or sofa configuration involves dozens of modules that would have to be transported individually to your premises. On the other hand, unpacking the shelving modules would take too much time. This logistics service would drive up the logistics costs and thus make the product price exorbitantly more expensive. We have therefore deliberately opted for delivery to the kerbside and hope for your understanding. The shelving modules and most sofa modules are very easy to transport, even by individuals. Perhaps you can ask a neighbor or a friend to help you on the day of delivery. We ask for your understanding for this decision!

It normally takes 3-5 working days for your order to arrive. We will do our best to deliver it to you promptly.

- We do not deliver sofas and Shelving systems to the United States

We deliver mixed orders together. Only sample products may be sent in advance.

If this is not possible in exceptional cases, we will contact you in advance. The delivery time depends on the longest delivery period. Partial deliveries are possible for a surcharge and additional shipping costs.
